This cheerful quilted mug rug features a beautiful sunrise-inspired patchwork design that is created right in your embroidery hoop. It’s a wonderful way to use coordinating fabrics or those favorite scraps you just can’t bear to throw away. Choose calming blues like the sample, create a colorful scrappy sunrise, or completely change the look with seasonal fabrics.

Designed for a 6" × 10" embroidery hoop or larger, this project combines machine embroidery with fabric piecing to create a finished mug rug that looks like a miniature art quilt.
